The George Wood Learning Centre has 9 unique instructional spaces: four traditional classrooms all equipped with lap tops and a Smartboard, one food science area, a gymnasium, a literacy resource centre, a therapeutic room and a wood shop.

The George Wood Learning Centre is located at 9400 - 48th Avenue N.W. The Calgary Board of Education is in partnership with Wood's Homes. Wood's Homes offers a number of residential and non-residential programs at different sites throughout the city. Residential programs provide long-term intensive clinical treatment and academic programs to young people aged 12 to 18 who have severe psychological, social and family difficulties. Shorter term and non-residential programs are also available that respond to youth experiencing severe emotional, psychiatric and other difficulties. Treatment is provided for six months to one-and-a-half years. The George Wood Learning Centre provides educational and therapeutic opportunities for the students residing on Bowness Campus.
