About Our School

Christine Meikle School is a unique setting for junior high and high school age students with moderate to severe cognitive disabilities and/or complex learning, medical, emotional, sensory or behavioural needs.  Our programming helps students develop communication, independence and vocational skills to the best of their ability.

In January 2017, our school moved to a new building that was specially designed to meet the needs of our unique student population.  Movement and physical exercise are paramount for our students to assist them with self-regulation, physical control of their bodies and social interaction. This building is equipped with a warm salt-water therapy pool, an indoor track as well as a completely accessible playground area to support these important student endeavours.  The building also included a large open Learning Commons, several sensory rooms and a completely accessible student kitchen. Students responded favourably to this move and are utilizing all areas of the building to enhance their learning.
