Welcome to Elbow Park School

inform | Delay in School Opening

October 28, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians

The opening of our new school is getting closer and we are all looking forward to moving into the new space. We expected to open the school on Jan. 5, but due to unforeseen construction issues early in the project and delays caused by rain this summer the general contractor has not been able to make up for lost time. Unfortunately, this means that our school opening will be delayed.

We are closely watching the construction progress and will provide you with an update through email and the school website in January when we have the information needed to confirm a revised opening date.

The non-instructional days that were planned for Jan. 3 and 4 will be changed to coincide with the move-in to our new building. I will communicate the new non-instructional dates once we have a confirmed school opening date. Please plan for your child to be at school on Jan. 3 and 4.

Elbow Park School will continue to operate at our temporary location until our new school is ready for occupancy. Transportation and noon supervision services will remain the same.

Please contact me at ElbowPark@cbe.ab.ca if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Carrie Dayman, Principal
Elbow Park School
