Dear Parents and Guardians,
We anticipate the new Elbow Park School will open on February 1, 2017. The school will hold non-instructional days on January 30 and 31 to give teachers and staff time to unpack materials and prepare their classrooms for learning. Students will not have classes on these two days.
We are hopeful that we will receive the occupancy permit from the City of Calgary by mid-January, at which time our facilities staff will assess the building for readiness, continue moving in equipment and furniture, and prepare the school for students on opening day. We also anticipate the installation of the SuperNet, which supports the school’s internet and phone service, will be completed by the end of January. The occupancy permit and the SuperNet are required to open the school.
Past experience demonstrates that circumstances outside of our control may arise. Should adjustments to the move-in date be needed, we will communicate with parents and guardians as soon as possible.
We know that everyone in Elbow Park has been anxiously awaiting the reopening of their beloved school. We believe that the new school will exceed your expectations in its design and function. It beautifully incorporates modern school elements with the historic architectural features of the original building.
Please contact either the Area IV office at firstname.lastname@example.org or Elbow Park School at email@example.com if you have any questions regarding the opening of Elbow Park School.
Have a safe and joyous holiday.
