Staff Appreciation Lunch
Once again the Glamorgan parent community has gone out of their way to provide the staff at Glamorgan School with a wonderful lunch and time to sit and relax and talk. Thank you very much to all parents for providing the delicious food dishes, staff gift contributions, setting up and cleaning up, providing supervision and making the gym look so inviting for this special event. Special thanks to our Teacher/Staff Appreciation Committee Laura S, Ruby B and Shaida S for coordinating the luncheon! Thank you to all the parent supervisors and parents who brought in the incredible food. All staff thoroughly enjoyed this event.
Provincial Achievement Tests
In May and June, Grade 6 students write the Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT) in Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. A Parent Guide to Provincial Testing for Students in Grade 6, providing details on the achievement tests and curriculum details for each subject can be found at
Scroll down to “For Parents” and then click on “Frequently Asked Questions”. You can view a video about the PATs here or scroll down to “Grade 6 Parent Guide”. Tests items that are available for student practice can be accessed online through Quest A+, an Alberta Education online testing site found at
We ask that parents ensure that their child has a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast to prepare them to be able to show their best performance on their PATs.

The Friday schedule allows for a school wide block of time immediately following recess for Character Education. Students will be allowed to have a nutritious snack at this time. Teachers are very excited about this, for they will be having a buddy class for topics to be addressed in a team teaching approach, which will also allow for students to build community across all grades of the school. Being a Leader in Me school, teachers will be utilizing the website and teaching specific lessons regarding the 7 Habits during this block of time.

Thank you for your continued support of Glamorgan School.
