The Big Red Chair

The Big Red Chair is symbolic of the lake lifestyle of Auburn Bay.  It was first introduced by the community developer Brookfield and has just sort of become an identity and symbol of the community.  There are a couple floating around the community and people who live in Auburn Bay know when they see the big red chair they are “home”.  The chair in front of our school has been in an Auburn Bay backyard for a while.  It just so happens the man whose yard it has been is is one of the managers of the company that built the school and his granddaughter attends here.  So, the weekend before the school opened he gave it to us as a gift… it symbolizes our welcome into the community, we are part of the community, and when families see the chair they know they are home, the school is deeply connected to the families of Auburn Bay.  We LOVE the chair and so do our families!
