Dear Families,

Our Terry Fox run was post-phoned to this Monday, September 18th due to the weather.

On Wednesday, September 20th, we will have our first fire drill. We are required to have six throughout the year.

Next week are also our meet the teacher conferences. To sign up for your 10 minute time slot, please go online. It opens today. Thursday, September 21st will be an early dismissal at noon with conferences starting at 1pm until 5pm and then again from 5:45 pm to 7pm. There is no school on Friday, September 22nd, as we have conferences from 8 to noon. We hope to see you all!

Improv residency is running all week.

Please, please, please do not park in our bus parking zone. The buses need to be able to pull up to the curb when they arrive to allow children to disembark safely.

This is to inform you that you may apply for a noon supervision fees waiver if you qualify. Here is the information about waivers:

Waiver requests must be completed annually and are only valid for one school year.

v. Calgary Fair Entry or
vi. low income status based on other reasonable proof.

b) completes the CBE waiver application form and provides the required documentation.

“A parent or independent student may apply for an approved waiver of noon supervision fees.

Math tip of the week: If you want to support your child’s early numeracy, play Cribbage (Crib) with them. It practices basic facts up to 31.

Traffic Safety

Please model traffic safety for our students by following regulations and using crosswalks! Kiss N’ Dash means that parents may not park or get out of their vehicle. Children should exit on the curbside and use the nearest crosswalk. Although the entire length of 12 street is a bus zone, parents may use the east side as a Kiss N’ Dash, after the opening of the fence and at their own risk. If a caregiver will be dropping off/picking up your child, please ensure that they clearly understand all traffic & safety regulations. Unauthorized cars and pedestrians are strictly prohibited in the parking lot.
