Isis and OsirisPage 6Osiris came alive, but he had to go away. So he used his magic so that Isis would have a baby.
She had a boy named Horus. Before Horus was even one year old, he could walk and talk and climb and read and write. Isis had to keep Horus safe and a secret from Seth. So she took him and built a little hut by the river.
Horus grew until he was eight years old. Then, one day when he was playing by the river, a sea snake came out of the water and bit him on the ankle. Horus yelled, and then he fell down dead. Many people came to see what happened. Thoth came, and told Isis to catch the snake. She took a rope and caught the snake by the neck. She took the poison from his fangs, and made it into medicine. Horus came back to life. |
