Continuing our Journey through Egyptian Daily Life

Within our Daily life group we have looked at various aspects. We begun our topic by trying to recreate jewelry using present day materials. Now, we are designing and making jewelry using student requested materials to create their vision of authentic Egyptian jewelry. In our inquiry we have also had the chance to consider various Ancient Egyptian games, including Senet and making dolls. Hopefully in the near future we will actually get to play Senet, the Egyptian form of checkers.
We have had a guest come in to help us make amulets (good luck charms) out of clay. Just wait until you see all the Ankh's, Udjat Eyes, Scarab Beetles, Cobras and the Faience of Bes. Finally, for our Celebration of Learning we will be preparing some Egyptian food for all our guests to enjoy. We hope you all love Bread and Hummus.
