Fiction or fact | Southasia Earthquake | Why do they stay?
Why do volcanoes erupt? What is happening when we feel an earthquake? Why does the weather change over the course of a year? Myths are stories from long ago that people shared to explain something that was hard to understand. People from all over the world have myths that explain all sorts of things about our planet. After reading some of these myths, we wrote our own myths to explain natural events.
The stories we created to explain natural events got us thinking about the real scientific causes behind volcanoes and earthquakes. We did research and built models to share what we learned about these powerful forces of the earth. Some group members did research to find out more about the different kinds of rocks and minerals that make up the Earth.
