Principal's Message | June
“Summer is coming! The soft breezes whisper;
Summer is coming! The glad birdies sing…
Summer is coming – I hear her quick footsteps;
Take your last look at the beautiful Spring…
Bright, happy summer begins her sweet reign.”
June is bringing with it hints of summer. It is a month for planning transitions for the fall and excitement is building for summer activities at home. At school, swimming lessons are in process, Alberta Opera is performing “Hansel and Gretel” on June 1, Activity Day is June 28 and field trips are continuing throughout the month. Our Grade 6 Farewell is on June 27 at 10:40 am.
On behalf of the staff and administration team at Capitol Hill School I would like to thank all of our school community members for the continued support throughout the year. Volunteers, please join us for the Volunteer Tea on June 9th at 9:30 am. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all volunteers.
During the year our teachers have been focused on Literacy and how to support students in interdisciplinary literacy. At our school council meetings each teaching team has shared the work that they have been doing with their students in regards to this. I would like to say thank you to the staff for the outstanding work that they have done with their students.
It is with regret that I say goodbye to all of you at Capitol Hill School. I will miss the enthusiasm that everyone brings to the work at the school, the creativity that was in abundance during this extremely busy year and the support that has been given to the teachers for their great work. Take care.
