School Council meets once a month at Queen Elizabeth School. All parents are
encouraged to attend these meetings. It is an excellent opportunity to get involved in your
child’s education. It is also a great way in which to meet neighbours and community
members. The first meeting is Monday Sept. 18, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. Please join us!
Attending a meeting does not mean you have to volunteer. We recruit our volunteers
event by event using Sign Up Genius.

We are still looking for a person to fill the following role….
Fun Lunch Coordinator
Traditionally, the Fun Lunch Coordinator is tasked with planning, organizing and executing nine
school fun lunches for students. For the last three years, Domino’s Pizza has been our main
restaurant vendor, and pizza lunches have been hosted each month, beginning in October.
The Fun Lunch Coordinator: creates lunch order forms, collects and tabulates all students’ orders,
compiles classroom lists, liaisons and completes school order with vendors (usually with Domino’s
Pizza and Saputo), and oversees the execution of each fun lunch. During the execution of each
special lunch, additional volunteer parents are recruited through the Volunteer Coordinator to help
hand out lunches to students. And the students and Staff couldn’t be happier to see you!
Casino 2017 Oct. 2/ 3 We are still in need of more volunteers to make this happen.
Casino funding is one of the primary ways in which QES funds extra technology needs like
lap top computers and new Smartboards, special residency opportunities, new PE
equipment, Mathletics and Razkids, STEAM resources, financial support to cover a portion
of the bus costs for swimming and much more. Without the Casino funding we would notice
a significant decrease in materials, supports and exciting opportunities for students. Please
check your calendar and sign up to get involved. Here is the link:
