Calgary Board of Education

For Parents

School Supplies

The Calgary Board of Education has a mandatory fee for all students. It is called the Instructional Supplies and Materials Fee and is used to pay for expendable student materials used at school, such as pencils, notebooks and other items. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR YOUR CHILD AS THEY WILL BE SUPPLIED AT SCHOOL.

Helpful items that are not supplied at school include a sturdy back pack. When preparing for school in the fall, please also remember that we ask students to have “indoor” shoes in addition to the shoes they wear “outdoors”.

Fee Waivers

Some families apply to have the Instructional Supplies and Materials Fee waived by the Calgary Board of Education. The entire amount may be waived for qualifying families if application is made prior to school opening. The application is attached to this newsletter. If used, it is to be sent directly to the Calgary Board of Education by those families applying. The school receives waived fees to help pay for student supplies.
