music notes Benefit Concert For Haiti
On Monday, February 8th at 11:00 am, University School will be holding a benefit concert to support the Haitian earthquake victims. The “Bell’arte Strings” with parent guests Dave and Trish Reid, Dean O’Brien, Laureen McNaughton and Stephanie Soltice-Johnson will be performing at the school. We are encouraging students and their families to donate to this important event. All money raised will be donated to the “Free the Children” foundation, which is currently working in Haiti. They are helping with the distribution of medical supplies and getting the Haitian children safely back to school. Everyone is welcome to join us and listen to some magnificent musicians! Mr. R promises not to sing...
Please make cheques out to the "Free the Children Foundation" if a tax receipt is required.

The Olympic Spirit grows at University School!

On January 19th, 2010 University School students had the amazing opportunity to view the Olympic Torch Relay as it heads on its way towards Vancouver!

Our students cheered the runner on and showed a ton of pride in this wonderful nation of ours.

Flags were waved, paper torches were held high, and red was everywhere!

Thanks again to all the parents and grandparents who at the last minute generously volunteered their time to enable our students to have a wonderful experience!

As well, on January 20th, 2010, Ms. Karen Connellan, a University School Parent, participated as an Olympic Torch Runner and brought her torch to University School!

Students had a chance to see her torch and ask her questions about the experience.

Thanks for sharing, Karen, and great job!
