The evening of Friday, June 2 was an exciting one for the Dalhousie School community as students and their parents came dressed in their finest for the first ever Dalhousie Art and Photo gala. The event was a celebration of the work the students completed with our Artists-in-Residence, photographers David Benard and Eric Smith.
Forty-nine enlarged photographs were up for bids in a silent auction that raised over $3700.00 in support of future Artist-in-Residency programs at the school. In addition, generous families donated over $2000.00 - bringing the proceeds of the evening to over $5700.00.
Parents were offered additional opportunities to purchase enlarged photos created by their children as well as art cards featuring each child’s favourite photograph. School council hopes to raise significantly more funds through these offers.
Congratulations to the winner of the WestJet Raffle, Bob Marble! Bob won two tickets anywhere WestJet flies. Thank you to everyone for their support of the raffle.

Dalhousie student and parent community raised $2287.00 to donate towards the victims of the Fort McMurray fires. This picture shows a few of the students at Dalhousie that took the cheque down to the Red Cross office to present to some of the employees. We are proud of the generosity of our staff, students and parents.
