Online Safety Tips

Check out Educational Games by Media Smarts to help raise awareness about the importance of being a safe and ethical citizen online. This site is a great way to have conversations with your children about the media, digital literacy and safe use of the internet.

Kindergarten Registration for 2017-2018

Registration for the 2017-18 school year begins Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 for traditional calendar schools and on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 for modified calendar schools. Children must be at least four years old on or before March 1 to start kindergarten in September of the same calendar year. You have to register in person at your school with proof of residence, your child's name, date of birth and citizenship. Peanut and Tree Nut Aware Policy
and Medically Vulnerable Students

We have students who are medically vulnerable to various situations. Students may have life threatening reactions to peanuts and/or tree nuts.

  • Only send lunches, snacks and special treats that are peanut and tree-nut free.

Somerset School is a “Calgary Reads” School

The intent of this program is to add further resources to reach all students in the best way possible to further their ability and joy of reading for a lifetime. For more information on this program please go to http://calgaryreads.com/

 

We are looking for volunteers to help read with students. If you have some time and would be able to help read with students please call the school at 403-777-7001. (You must have Police Clearance done in order to volunteer in the school).

 

Traffic Safety & Clean Air

Help keep our students and community members safe - please respect the school zone speed limits, space around our pedestrian sidewalks and fire hydrants by parking five metres back for the safety of everyone.

 

For the environment we are promoting a “No Idle Zone” around the school.
