At Chinook Park School, staff, students and parents work together to provide a caring, challenging learning environment in which students achieve their personal best.
We are committed to exploring how students can be encouraged to use a variety of higher level thinking skills. Of the six levels of thinking identified by Benjamin Bloom, an influential educational psychologist, our students make use of the fundamental types of thinking (knowledge, understanding and application) to support higher levels of thinking, including:
- Analytical Thinking: breaking ideas into parts and analyzing how the parts function together
- Creative Thinking: making connections between an idea and other possibilities
- Evaluative Thinking: deciding on the value of an idea and providing reasoning
