Math Night - Thursday, April 13, 6-7:30 PM

Come to the school for an evening of family fun and learn all about the ways in which your child engages in mathematics while at school. We will begin with a short presentation in the gym at 6 PM sharp and then you are encouraged to visit every classroom space to learn more about how we teach math, and how you can support your child's learning at home. Each teacher will host an activity using a different set of materials so come and learn how cards, dice, and dominoes can shape your understanding of numbers and operations!

Volunteer Tea - April 21

On Friday, April 21 from 10-11 AM we will be honoring our volunteers. Without our volunteers many fieldtrips, assisting in the classroom, and fundraising would not occur. Our volunteers are instrumental to many facets of the running of our school and are greatly appreciated.

To become a volunteer you need to complete a security clearance. Once granted it is valid for five years. Contact our office for information on how you can be a volunteer.

Choir at Calgary Performing Arts Festival - April 26

Wed., April 26
9:30 -11:30 AM
Bethany Chapel, 3333 Richardson Way SW Google Map

We will have the opportunity to perform two songs in front of an audience and a professional choral adjudicator. We will be graded on our performance and given a certificate indicating our participation and placement.

Parents are welcome to attend. 9:30-11:30 AM. We will be preforming during the 9:30-11:30 AM time slot; you may have to wait for our group to sing.

The students have worked so hard this year preparing for the variety of performances, and I am pleased to end the year with the Festival. Thanks for your support of the music program at Marlborough School. It means so much to me to see the students get excited about singing and performing.

Construction Items for the Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is going through some changes. There will be areas set up so the students will be able to create and construct items to help with their learning. Collect and send the articles to school with your children or drop off at the office.

Craft supplies and any other safe items to create things with would be good. For example: magazines - popsicle sticks - nuts/bolts/screws - bubble wrap.

Late or Absent?

Your child’s safety is of utmost importance to us. A reminder that if a student is arriving to school after the late bell they are directed to come through the front doors of the school and check into the front office. This way no child will be left unattended outside.

If a student is going to be very late or absent please call the school office at 403-777-8190, ext. 1 to inform the office staff. Our Synervoice will continue to send out messages to numbers provided informing you of a child’s absence or late, but this does not occur until after attendance is taken.

If you have any personal information to addresses, phone numbers, contacts, etc., please inform the office so the necessary changes can be made. Having current information is important so parents/guardians can be reached anytime, particularly in the case of an emergency.

Traffic Safety

It is important that all parents/guardians obey the following:

  • Do not drop off or pick up your child in the school parking lot.
  • Do not make U-turns.
  • Respect the 30 km school zone limit.
  • Do not double park.
  • Cross at the designated crosswalk.
  • Follow the direction of the patrollers.
  • Have your child enter through the front doors of the school if arriving after school starts.

Please note that NO PATROLLERS WILL BE OUT DURING THE LUNCH HOUR. If your child requires assistance to cross Maryvale Drive in front of the school, please call the school and arrangements will be made for them to be assisted by staff.
