Message from Administration | October
Hello Marlborough Families!
The leaves are turning and the weather is getting chilly, we must be officially in fall! We have
some very exciting things coming your way in October so please read the newsletter and
calendar carefully so you can stay in the loop.
Despite uncooperative weather, The International Day of Peace was a huge success at
Marlborough School! We shared songs and reflections about peace, created peace
pennants for the gym and had our very first Peace Picnic in the gym over the lunch hour. It
was a lovely day! A special thanks to Mrs. Ballem’s and Mrs. Nabe’s class for organizing our
events and sharing their reflections during our gathering.
At 9:30am on October 6th we will be hosting our first of many informal sharing assemblies.
These brief whole school assemblies are meant to bring students and staff together to
celebrate the work going on across the school. It is amazing how excited the students get
when they learn what other classes are doing! Please ask your child if they are presenting
any work and join us in celebrating why #MarlboroughIsAmazing.
It is hard to believe Hallowe’en is right around the corner! We’d like to share a few words
about expectations at school before you raid the racks for the perfect costume. Please
ensure that IF your child chooses to dress up they keep the following in mind:
- No weapons, blood or other scary items
- We will dress up in the afternoon only – please come to school in regular clothes in
- Snacks – if you would like to send snacks in for the classroom please remember they
must be nut-free and a healthy choice. We’d like to keep the sugar intake to a minimum as
the children will be getting a sugar overload as they trick-or-treat!'
For those families that do not celebrate Hallowe’en we will provide alternate activities for the
children that afternoon.
Thank you so much for all your support. We appreciate parents as our partners and would
love to see more faces at our first School Council Meeting on Monday, October 2nd!
