Message from Administration | December
It is hard to believe that winter break is fast approaching. Our students have adjusted well to the modified calendar. They have had wonderful learning opportunities over the past few months including Family Fridays, Field Trips, and daily lessons that are providing them with authentic and meaningful experiences. We look forward to the continued work that our students will engage in.
November was our first formal round of Parent Teacher Interviews. We were happy to see such a large turnout. Parent Teacher conferences are extremely valuable as it is a great opportunity to report on student progress, as well as to see student work. We also held a Scholastic Book fair which was a huge success selling over $3000, which brings rewards back to the school and our students.
Marlborough School students have just started using IRIS to document their learning this year. This work is beginning to unfold in the different classes, and will take more time to develop with our younger students. One of the benefits of IRIS is that students can access their IRIS page at home, and share their learning with parents. We would encourage you to check your child’s IRIS page. As we progress over the year, you will see more documentation of learning. To access IRIS you can click on the link on our Marlborough school website, or follow the link below. Your child will login with you, using their student ID and personal password.
We would also like to offer a warm welcome to the new members of our Marlborough School family. Ms. Julie Biermann is working as an Early Childhood Practitioner in Kindergarten and Mr. Zentner will be supporting our math and ELL groups across all grades. Mrs. Tiller and Mrs. Wiltshire will be joining our lunchrooms in the coming weeks. Ms. Crawford, our exchange teacher, will be returning to her home in Australia over the break and Ms. Niemi will be starting back with us on January 15. We want to wish Ms. Crawford all the best and thank her for her dedication and commitment to her students.
