Webinar for Parents

Alberta’s Kindergarten to Grade 12 provincial curriculum is designed to engage students in exploring, developing and applying competencies in relevant subject content and contexts.  As part of curriculum development, there will be a shift from an implicit to an explicit focus on competencies.    It is important that parents learn about competencies, and how parents can work together with their child's teachers/schools to support the development of competencies, both now and in the future.

Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium (ERLC), in partnership with the Alberta School Council Association, has created an informative, two-part webinar series to help parents learn about competencies, and how they can support the development of competencies.   Please share information about these one-hour webinars with your school parents/school council chairs.

Please visit the ERLC website for further information and registration details: Session 1 (November 30, 2016 from 9:30 - 10:30 am) or Session 2 (November 30, 2016 from 8:30 - 9:30 pm).

Under Construction | Summer 2016

Construction is ongoing and you can check back here for more updates.

During the summer, there was considerable construction activity at the school while these classrooms are being installed. The affected areas are fenced in and fully contained as we strive to maintain the highest standards for safety at our school sites. You may also notice some minor repairs or changes to some of the landscaping and outdoor areas that may be affected by this project, as we work with the City to meet their requirements through the development permit process. Construction traffic, parking and activity will be coordinated between the CBE and the contractor to ensure minimal impact to the surrounding community. These designated areas may shift for several days to accommodate the modular unit(s) delivery to site, but will generally be contained within the school site. The existing modular classrooms will be demolished following the opening of the new modulars, to provide as much transition space as possible until the new classrooms are fully operational. We are looking forward to celebrating the opening of these new learning spaces with you in the fall as we continue to enhance our learning opportunities for all students.
