CEOP Student Accommodation Planning Process - Area I Dalhousie
TRAFFIC and PARKING
As the weather gets colder and the roads become slippery, please use extreme caution when you are dropping off and picking up students on the roads adjacent to the school. We remind parents to set a positive example for their children by using the crosswalk at the intersection. To do otherwise is “jaywalking” as well as unsafe practice. We also remind you that it is unlawful to make a "U-turn" in a school zone.
Please remember that for the safety of our students, the Staff Parking Lot is not to be used for dropping off students. If you are unsure of the regulations, please click here.
RECYCLING for READING
Bring your big bag of bottles and cans to school during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, Nov. 26th and Friday, Nov. 27th.
Our bottle drive will not include a door-to-door campaign, but rather we would like you to bring your bottles (inside of a
big garbage bag) to the school when attending your child’s conference. We will gather all the bottles in the gym on
Thursday night and Friday. On Friday afternoon, the Vocational Rehabilitation and Research Institute (VRRI) will come to West Dalhousie School and pick up all the bottles which will then be processed at Calgary’s only non-profit bottle depot.
If you prefer, bottles and cans can be dropped off at the bottle depot. Please tag your garbage bags with the school's name before drop off. VRRI personnel will sort and count the bottles and credit our account. Hours and location are available on their site.
The proceeds will be used to support literacy at our school through the purchase of books for the Calgary Reads program and dual language books for our library.
