Hope to see you there!

What is a School Council?
A school council is a collective association of parents, teachers, principals and community representatives who seek to work together to promote the well-being and effectiveness of the entire school community and thereby to enhance student learning. A school council is a means to facilitate cooperation among all the concerned participants in the school.

What do School Councils do?
The school council may advise the principal on matters such as fiscal management, educational standards, policies and procedures, rules and objectives and any matter relating to the school. The council works together to facilitate communication, planning and resource allocation regarding priorities and programs. The council plans special events such as pizza lunches for fundraising.

Can any parent come to school council meetings?
Any parent of a student at Rundle School can attend meetings. School Council meets once a month for approximately 1 hour and all meeting dates are published in the school newsletter. The council can provide babysitting for meetings if notified in advance.

How do I get involved?
Come to a meeting. You are encouraged to come out and be part of the School Council. You don’t have to hold a board position to be part of the School Council. It is a chance for us to work together to continue making Rundle School a wonderful place to learn. Whether you would like to participate, provide feedback, or just listen, your contribution will be noticed and appreciated.
