Grandparent Program

Pineridge School is looking for retired seniors who would like to spend some time reading, playing games or just talking one to one with students in grades 3 to 6. If you know of a senior who may be interested please have them contact the number below.

The Pineridge School Grandparent Program meets every Thursday morning from 9:30 until 11:30 am. Interested parties will see four students for approximately 30 minutes each.

Coffee and snacks are provided and you will be able to visit with our other volunteers.

Please call Joanne Lack, coordinator, at the school 403-777-6750 for more information.

Please also look at our Volunteer Handbook.

Dressing for the Weather

It is very important that children come to school with warm winter clothing. As the weather gets colder, remember that students will be outside for recess unless the temperature is below –20 degrees celcius.

Students will also be outside during recess breaks if it is raining or snowing, unless blizzard conditions occur.

Students should always come to school prepared for the colder temperatures by wearing a warm coat, hats, gloves or mitts, scarves, and boots. Thank you!

Please Remember

Drop off / pick up your child at their outside door.

When coming in to the school – ALWAYS stop in the office to sign in and receive a Visitor badge.

Please pick up your child(ren) on time every day. Due staff commitments it is not possible to provide after school care.

Student Drop Off

Double parking is against the law.

Staff parking lot, is for staff ONLY, staff are coming and going – we can’t see children behind our cars and are not expecting you to walk or drive through.

Don't stop in the Bus/handicap zone in front of school – we know you are in a hurry but please don't block access for our special needs students.

Choose safety over convenience! Please read our Parking notice.

Start Smart Stay Safe

We have taken up the Start Smart Stay Safe (S4) Citizenship program. It has four cornerstones: Significance, Self-awareness, Success and Service.

As part of our Virtue and S 4 program, we have been assigned Constable Scott! He comes into our school whenever a teacher asks for his assistance with an S 4 virtue lesson. He is a preferred guest at our assemblies and he shows up whenever he is driving by and has time to say hello. He is here to help our children learn strong resiliency skills - skills they will need to learn so that they stay out of trouble and to encourage them to be positive citizens in both our school and our community.

Go online and check out the website startsmartstaysafe.ca
