Midnapore School is located in southeast Calgary. Our school was built in 1978 and is situated on 26.07 acres.
This school year (2012-13) we have approximately 300 students from Kindergarten through Grade 6, including 77 students in the Chinese (Mandarin) Bilingual program. The Mandarin Bilingual program was introduced at Midnapore last year for students in Kindergarten and Grade 1, and this year expanded to include Grade 2. Each year another grade will be added until we get to Grade 6. Entry points are Kindergarten and Grade 1. Any student entering in Grades 2 to 6 will be required to pass an English and Mandarin Literacy exam.
Midnapore School is supported by a strong School Council that works diligently to assist the school in meeting its educational and improvement goals. School Council meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month in the school library.
The MidSun Community Hall also resides on the site providing a variety of services to the communities of Midnapore and Sundance.
