Preschool

Who are we?
  • A proven parent cooperative preschool for 3 and 4 year olds, operational for over twenty years.  We are separate from the Sunalta School but maintain a close relationship with the school.

What we offer?

  • A balanced program of social learning and child and teacher directed activities including: circle time, crafts, music and stories, physical activity, special events, etc.
  • To attend our 3-year-old program, students must be 3-years-old and fully toilet trained.  (Children in this program must have turned three by December 31 of the school year in which they are attending.)  These students attend classes on Tuesday and Thursdays (morning or afternoon).  The cost is currently $135 a month.
  • To attend our 4-year-old program, students must be 4 years of age prior to the end of February of the school year in which they are attending.  These students attend classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (morning or afternoon).  The cost is currently $160 a month.

What we expect?

  • As we are a parent run preschool, parents are required to volunteer in the classroom assisting the teacher and providing snack and juice approximately 8 times a year for each child registered in the class.  This number is based on a full class size and may change based on the number of children registered in the class.  Parents are also required to volunteer in various positions on the Preschool Executive or as subcommittee members throughout the year.  Executive meetings are held every 4-6 weeks in the evenings.

Where are we located?

  • In the basement of the Sunalta School, 536 Sonora Avenue S.W.
