A Native Plant Park and an Amphitheatre for teaching, surrounded by spruce trees and black ash, was a two-phase process starting in 1995 and completed in 1996. The purpose of this area was to give students areas to study science curriculum, play games, have a group class session on the environment, study plants and eat lunch on picnic tables and benches. A major effort was made to reduce the wind and heat to the school by planting 31 large trees for a wind break. This area exemplifies aspen forest, prairie, and park land habitats. Also added were park benches, picnic tables, bird baths, and feeders. Phase I & II Map
