Principal's Message - April/May
As we begin this spring season we find ourselves right in the midst of new beginnings as we plan for
the upcoming school year. We will complete allocating our resources for 2012-2013 by the end of
April. Our enrolment numbers for next year are almost equal to this year. We are expecting to
have 2 Kindergarten classes, 2 Grade One classes, 2 Grade Two classes, 2 Grade Three classes and
2 Grade 4 classes. We hope you will tell your neighbours and friends that The Hamptons School is a
great place and encourage them to register their child at our school.
The students will be very busy with regular classroom activities and many extra activities such as the clay lady, Wide Open Puppets
doing Robert Munsch stories, Father Troy Band, tennis, field hockey and a Kindergarten/Grade One Assembly. The grade 3s are going
to the new Science Centre and the Grade 1s are going to the Bird Sanctuary. We have the gymnastic equipment here for three
weeks so students will be using the equipment and creating their own routines. For parents, we will be hosting the Volunteer Tea and
Kindergarten orientation in May.
This spring, parents are being asked to complete surveys and answer questions on various aspects of curriculum and learning. The
goal of the CBE is to make processes more transparent and get real data from parents. It is greatly appreciated when parents contribute
to the dialogue. All information will help us set our plans for next year.
