Lottery Results for Kindergarten 2016-2017 Registrations

In accordance with the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) accommodation decisions for Chaparral School, a lottery was held on February 10, 2016, in order to establish enrolment for the 2016-2017 school year kindergarten.  As per the established enrolment priorities, 59 of the allotted 65 spaces have been assigned to children who currently have a sibling in the school, and students residing in our walk zone. The balance of spaces was assigned by lottery.

The lottery criteria for order of acceptance are as follows:

Priority 1

Students residing within the walk zone who have a sibling attending the school at the time of registration (see individual school profile pages for maps)

Priority 2

Students living outside the walk zone who have a sibling in the school/program OR students living within the walk zone who do not have a sibling in the school/program

Priority 3

All other students living in the designated community.

This is to inform you that all registrations received for children who currently have a sibling in the school and/or students residing in our walk zone (all children in Priority 1 and Priority 2 categories) have been ACCEPTED into Chaparral School for the 2016-17.  The families with children in the Priority 3 category were notified of the lottery results via telephone on February 16,  2016.

If you have any further questions regarding the results of the lottery, please contact the school at 403-777-6424.

The time has arrived for our final Fun Lunch of the year:
Extreme Pita – Monday June 13th 2016.

Please note:

All pitas ordered come with your choice of orange or apple juice as well as a side choice of an apple, baked pita chips, baked cinnamon pita, chocolate chip cookie or an m&m cookie. Please keep an eye out for an email from either Healthy Hunger or Chaparral School Council asking for your child’s drink/beverage choice if you have ordered a pita!

If your child is absent from school their lunch can be collected from the office between 11:45-12:45. Lunches will not be saved.

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who helped distribute the fun lunches throughout the school year, we look forward to many more fun-fun lunches during the 2016-17 school year.
