School Council

All parents/guardians of Evergreen School students are members of the School Council, and the officers consist of a chair, vice-chair, secretary, and treasurer. Meetings for the year will held on the second Wednesday of each month. All parents are welcome. This is a great way to keep current of happenings in our school.

Evergreen Casino – Call For Volunteers

The Evergreen Parent Advisory Council has the opportunity to volunteer over a 2-day period at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino. The casino dates awarded to us are Oct. 28 and 29, 2017. In return for volunteering we receive approximately $65,000-$70,000 in funds to place directly back into the school to enrich, enhance, and expand student learning opportunities and resources.

To sign up visit www.volunteersignup.org/7MY4E and select a shift. No experience required.

Proceeds from previous casino fundraisers have been used for things such as:

  • Purchase and construction of the school playground
  • Purchase of additional resources:
    • Books for learning commons and classrooms
    • Technology - iPads, laptops, digital cameras, smart boards, accessories
    • Gym equipment
    • Handbells
    • Raz-Kids and Mathletics subscriptions
    • Special Art Supplies and Building Materials
  • Supplemented Fieldtrips and fieldtrip transportation for all grades in the school
  • Funding for Artist in Residence programs:
    • Dance Residencies (Hip-Hop, Bollywood, 3 left feet)
    • Mosaic artist (you can see the beautiful tile mosaics the students created)
    • Quest Theatre
    • More of these programs to come for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 school years!

Once again we are looking for volunteers to help with our upcoming casino which is less than 7 weeks away. Please consider volunteering. All of the above was provided by parents spending a few hours of their time. In exchange for working a shift at the casino, you will receive a “ticket” for VIP reserved seating in the front row for your immediate family at the concert/show of your choice this year. You will need to RSVP with the main office one week in advance of the concert/show.

Thank-you from your Evergreen Parent Advisory Council
