High School Information

High School Registration

The following information refers specifically to our designated high school Henry Wise Wood but is similar for most high schools in the CBE. If students are planning to attend a high school other than Henry Wise Wood please refer to that particular school’s website.

The following are the steps John Ware students will be following in preparation for high school registration:

December 1, 2016 - Henry Wisewood School - Grade 9 Tour

  • Grade 9 tour - all grade 9 students have a half day tour at Henry Wisewood

Date - tba

All grade nine students will declare the school they plan to attend and will be given a sample of the 3 year course planner and grade 10 course request form. These forms are to be taken home so student and family can discuss their educational plans.
The above websites have valuable information that will inform your discussion.

  • 3 Year course planner will help students map out what their course sequencing may look like for their high school years – it is simply a planning tool not a contract
  • Grade 10 course request form will show them what courses they will be able to register for in grade 10 based on their report card and teacher recommendations

Date - tba

  • Counsellors from Henry Wise Wood will be visiting John Ware to answer any questions students have regarding high school registration and to provide more information on core and option courses. Come ready with any questions you could not answer using the above websites.
Students will receive a hard copy of “Get-Ready-Get-Set-Go-For-It-Short” pamphlet with insert describing courses specific to Henry Wise Wood.

Date - tba

  • Students will need to complete their grade 10 course request form and return a signed copy signed by a parent/guardian.
  • Grade 9 teachers will include recommendations and current grade 9 achievement/performance as these recommendations will determine which level of core subject students should register in.

Date - tba

  • Counsellors from Henry Wise Wood will be at to John Ware to register students.

Registration Completed

  • Students will be able to access their registrations on home logic. (link on Henry Wise Wood homepage)
