Weekly Update | Mar. 12-16, 2018

Dear Rideau Families

We are looking forward to meeting with you and your children at conferences. It is very important for your children to be a part of the learning conversations. Please plan to have your children attend conferences with you to engage in conversation about their learning.

In May 2017, changes were implemented in CBE transportation to deliver a financially prudent service. Rideau Park was given until September 2018 to implement our new schedule. Our school schedule was presented at our School Council meeting on Wednesday March 7, 2018. Moving forward, the warning bell for next fall will ring at 9:00 am. Students may enter the school beginning at 8:50. Attendance will be taken at 9:05 and the first class will begin at 9:10. School will finish at 3:45. Lunch will begin at 12:03 and the warning bell to begin the afternoon will be at 12:45. The teachers and school administration have worked collaboratively to develop a strong program of studies for the upcoming year, which works with the new transportation schedule.

All students in grade 7,8,9 for the upcoming school year have chosen their complementary classes. We appreciate the work that families did to help us get this work completed by the end of February. CBE is adopting a new learner management system, PowerSchool. We will continue to communicate new developments as they come forward.

Our students were fully engaged in the Escape Room opportunities, opening their minds to new ways of thinking.

Thank you for your kind and positive support of Rideau – we appreciate the opportunities to work collaboratively in learning.
