We Are Louis: Book Drive

Our year is off to a great start! Students in all grades have been working hard on their Best Part of Me project. We have been working especially hard on our reading behaviors and how to choose good fit books. Unfortunately each year we have a number of books that are too loved and used to make it to the next year. Furthermore, as you know our school has grown a lot over the last few years, therefore, we need more books for our home reading program.

How can you help? When you are going through your child’s bookshelves and come across books that are no longer age appropriate, please think of us! If the book is in excellent condition, we would appreciate if you could donate it to Louis Riel School. We are looking for both fiction and non-fiction books.

Good Fit Books for Home Reading:

- excellent condition

- fiction and non-fiction

- soft cover books are best

- 8x10 is the largest we'd like (sometime big books don't fit in backpacks)

- books of interest for grades 1-4

We will be accepting books during the Welcome Back Picnic scheduled on September 22 at the front entrance
