The Creative Playground Committee, of the Louis Riel School Council has made plans for the construction of a new playground. The playground equipment will be purchased from Park N PLay Design Co.

Our wooden playground is currently slated for removal. Our committee is currently fundraising so the construction of the new playground can begin immediately once the removal has been completed this year.

We need people to assist in the fundraising, accounting and construction. If you have a skill, equipment or free time, there are many opportunities for you to get involved.

•  Fundraising

Parents and students can help with the Fundraising for the new playground. This fundraising will be separate from other Parent Council fundsraising initiatives.

• The Family Brick Project

Louis Riel will be involved with designing and painting a family brick to commemorate this initiative. Students have been working on their art bricks in class. Under the banner, "We All Can Play...", students and their families will be invited to design a family coat of arms and to draw on one of our hallway bricks. Altogether the bricks will create a Louis Riel Hall of Fame. This project is reminiscent of the brick project for the 1988 Olympic Plaza and is our way of celebrating the 2010 Winter Olympics.
