Report Cards/IPPs, Booking School Conferences & Book Fair

Report cards and IPP’s will go home with all students on Thursday November 29. Conferences will take place on Thursday December 6 (3:30-7:30 pm) and from 8-1 pm on December 7. Parent/student/teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation regarding your child’s learning. Parent/guardians, students and teachers are able to connect face-to-face to communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow everyone to share information and develop strategies to support ongoing student success.

Dr. Oakley is moving to an on-line conference booking system for all future teacher conferences. You will receive an email containing your child’s Team, time and location of the conference. You can log into the system at any time to view your bookings, print, cancel or reschedule your time. Please note: if you do not have internet access, you are more than welcome to contact the office and we will schedule conferences on your behalf.

If parents are booking an ‘after-school’ time on Thursday December 6, 2018 we would ask that you email or call the school office to let us know if your student will not be taking the bus. In the past, parents have picked students up at 3:05 pm dismissal to go for a walk or snack before attending their conference with teachers. Teachers will be having an early dinner break prior to conferences starting at 3:40 pm, so there will be no supervision available for students.

During conferences, parents will also have the opportunity to visit the Scholastic Book Fair with their children. This will be held in the Art Room located downstairs at Dr. Oakley.
