Annual Sherwood School Sailing Trip

Each year a group of grade 8 and 9 archers travel to Vancouver Island for a week long, hands-on learning experience like no other! We learn to sail historic tall ships, explore the geography and ecosystems of the British Columbia rainforest and ocean, discover West Coast First Nations culture and visit the Royal BC Museum and Shaw Marine Discovery Centre. Interested students are strongly encouraged to speak with Ms. Munroe about the trip and to complete a SEA Sailing Trip expression of interest form. All Sailing Trip “expression of interest applications” and $150 trip deposits are due March 24, 2017.

We look forward to your participation!
Vanessa Munroe

New York City Tour

Sherwood School is planning an amazing art and culture tour in New York City. This school trip is tentatively planned for April 20-25, 2018 and will include opportunities for students to be involved in many activities which may include workshops, sightseeing, museum tours, a Broadway show, and other experiences unique to New York City.

The estimated cost at this time is approximately $2400-2500 Canadian dollars. The payment schedule will require a $150 non-refundable deposit and a 9 month payment schedule of $275 to be made between April 2017 and February 2018. RBC rewards points can be used for payment. Trip details at this time are flexible and we are looking at ways to lower the cost while maximizing the experience. A parent committee would be welcomed to lead any fundraising that would reduce the cost of this trip. For this trip 20 spots are available for students and there will be 2 chaperones. Applications are available at the main office. The application deadline is April 4th, 2017.
If you have any questions please email Ms. Lori Gaffney ( or Ms. Amanda Hillestad (

Hello wonderful families!

We are writing to share with you a fantastic fundraiser that will greatly impact

our school. As you begin thinking about the holiday season (I know it's only

September), please consider making a short trip to the Chapters Spectrum store between September 18th - October 8th. We have been selected for the Chapters Indigo Adopt a School fundraiser!

We are so excited to build out our library collection!

100% of the donations collected will help us ensure that we have materials that

encourage our students to develop or continue a love of reading.

The address for the Chapters Spectrum store  is #500-2555 32nd Street N.E. Donations can only be made at this location between September 18th  - October 8th, 2016. Please share this far and wide! Happy Back to School!
