Weekly Update | Nov. 6-10, 2017

PARENT-STUDENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: The first round of Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, November 16 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and Friday, November 17 from 9:00am-2:30pm. To sign up for conferences please use your MY CBE ACCOUNT (instructions attached). Conferences are limited to 10 minutes per teacher. Registration opens Thursday, November 9 at 8:00am and closes on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:00pm.

REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY: In reconsidering our gym capacity for this week’s Remembrance Day Ceremony, we feel we will be able to accommodate a limited number of parents/guardians who wish to attend.  Please RSVP to davidthompson@cbe.ab.ca to reserve a seat.

BUS ZONE PARKING: With the recent arrival of winter conditions and more parents driving their kids to school, we are asking that you please respect the no stopping in the bus zone rule between 7:40am and 8:00am. We have 9 school buses arriving in a short period of time and it makes it very difficult for them to park and unload when cars are stopping in the bus zone. Also, please do not access the staff parking lot as it makes it very difficult for teachers to enter and park and for school buses to park and exit the lot. It also puts students at risk who walk across the parking lot to school. We are kindly asking that you use anywhere else in Arbour Crescent to drop your kids off.

LATES: Now that winter conditions have arrived please be aware that traffic is not a reason for an excused absence. Please try to give yourselves more time in the morning to arrive at school in a timely fashion.

WESTERN CANADA HIGH SCHOOL FRENCH IMMERSION IB PROGRAM : Grade 9 French Immersion students interested in the Western Canada High School French Immersion IB Program will be visiting the school on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 12:00pm – 2:30pm. REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY: On Friday, November 10 we will be holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony for all DTS students during Periods 3 and 4 in the Main Gym. Unfortunately due to the size of our student population we can’t accommodate parents at this event.
