WELCOME TO
HAROLD PANABAKER SCHOOL
Harold
Panabaker is an impressive school community. We are proud to offer
English, Late French Immersion and continuing French Immersion programs
at our school. We are a relatively small school so we have
the opportunity to get to know our students personally and support
their educational growth. Mutual respect is the cornerstone of our
school. When visitors come to our school it is not long before they
comment on the positive tone in the halls and classrooms. Harold
Panabaker is a friendly school with high standards for students to
achieve to their potential.
At Harold Panabaker Junior High students come
first and our school's purpose is to support their learning. We do this
by providing a safe and secure environment in which to learn. We want
all our students to take risks with their learning and get involved in
school activities. In addition to our attention to curriculum, we have
a strong co-curricular program. Our students regularly participate in a
very active intramural program, many clubs, athletic teams and
leadership activities. School spirit and pride is strong. Our goal is
that students should feel comfortable to share their skills and talents
and become an active member of our learning community.
Our staff provides a rich learning environment
both within the walls of the building as well as during off-campus
curriculum based learning experiences. The learning activities are
designed to capture the interests, energy and imagination of our
students while challenging them to grow as learners.
As a school we expect our students:
- To come to school prepared to learn.
- To actively participate in their classes and the school program.
- To be respectful of others and contribute to the school community in a
positive manner.
Our students live up to these expectations because of the positive tone
and engaging activities at school. They are great students.
As a staff we look forward to working with parents
on behalf of your youth. Parents are significant partners in their
student's school experience. We have an active Parent Council and a
large number of volunteers in the school. Parents are welcome at any
school event from parent teacher conferences to school dances. We
greatly appreciate the commitment of the parents of our students. We
know that parental involvement has a significant impact on student
learning. You can catch the excitement of our school community first
hand when you volunteer.
I would welcome you to visit our school and
experience our inspiring school culture of learning. We have talented
students who we are extremely proud of. After one visit I am confident
you will better understand why we are one of the best Junior High
Schools in the city of Calgary.
