Reflection
Sometimes, when we rescue our children before
they have an opportunity to solve their own problems
we are doing them a disservice. Providing
students with tools such as encouraging them to
use their agenda, working with their teachers at
lunch or a tutor after school, completing their
homework, or attending summer school will enable
your child to achieve their academic goals
this year and provide a basis for problem solving
for the rest of their life.
Play it Safe
Recently we have had parents dropping off
students before school on the south side
of 63rd Avenue. We would like to remind
parents that 63rd Avenue is a common
route for people driving to work. Please
remind your child to look both ways before
running across the road. These students are jaywalking
which puts them at risk as they are in the path of community
traffic. Accidents happen very quickly so caution is required.
2010-2011 BUS CONTRACTS have been
distributed to students. Please have them
completed and returned to the office or sent
to the CBE before June 30. The routes are
assigned over the summer based on received
applications.
IPP’S
Parents of students on IPP’s can expect the IPP’s to come
home the first week in June. Parents will need to sign off and
return them to the office. IPP’s will include goal pages and a
transitions page with recommendations for next year. Make
sure these are signed and returned to the school as soon as
possible. If parents would like to discuss the IPP before signing
off, please make an appointment with the key teacher to
the IPP.
