Principal's Message

Welcome to Sir John A. Macdonald (SJAM) School. Home of the Mustangs!

Our SJAM staff are ready and motivated to guide your learning in ways that are personalized so you can participate, progress and achieve. To ensure that you experience success, we will engage you through learning tasks that are designed to be active, assessment rich, and lead you to think deeply about your learning.

As a student at SJAM, you play a critical role in the success of your learning experience. You are expected to attend school regularly, work hard, and to meet the expectations related to your conduct of our school community. Respect yourself and the rights of others. Take responsibility when you make mistakes. And most importantly, you are expected to refrain from, report and not tolerate bullying or bullying behaviour directed toward others in the school. As you actively participate in your learning and positively contribute to our school community, you help to bring our school motto: “Together We Make a Difference” to life. Working together, SJAM students, staff, families, and community agencies make SJAM an awesome place to learn!

At SJAM, we are committed to providing students and staff with a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environment that respects diversity and fosters a sense of belonging for all members of our school community. Your student handbook provides important information about our Student Code of Conduct, your responsibilities related to promoting positive behaviours, and our progressive student discipline process, which will be applied when your behaviour is unacceptable.

I would like to offer a special welcome to our new students from the Sandstone and MacEwan communities. We are all so excited that you have joined the SJAM community, and we can’t wait to get to know you and your families.

To all SJAMers, I wish you a successful 2017-2018 school year. Go Mustangs!

Respectfully,

Ms. Lori, Principal
