Weekly Update | June 23, 2017

The final Friday of the 2016/2017 school year!! What a crazy ride it has been. At times it felt like we would never get into our new home, and now it feels like we've been here all along. We couldn't have done it without the support of everyone - staff, students, families and the community at large. We really are one great big family here at McKenzie Highlands, and we look forward to seeing our family grow over the summer and when we open our doors again in the fall we will almost double in size. Thank you to everyone for their continued support of everything we have done and continue to do. When we come back in September there will be many new faces to greet and friends to make. Our journey only gets better as we move forward.

We also say goodbye to a couple of members of our founding family. We wish nothing but good things for Ms. Cathie Driver and Ms. Trudi Tallerico as they take the next steps in their own personal journies. Ms. Driver is returning to Nickle School as the Learning Leader of Student Services, and Ms. Tallerico is joining Sunnyside School as their new Principal.

The final three days of school for students are taken up with exams for our GR 7/8 community, and complimentary based activities for the GR 5/6 community.

RELAXED ENTRY and EARLY DISMISSAL all 3 days next week. Teachers are available for tutorials from 9-10am. All students need to be in attendance at 10am. Exams and activities will begin at 10:30, dismissal will be at 1pm.

Report Cards will be distributed by homeroom teachers following exams on Wednesday June 28th. GR 7/8 students will also receive the Refundable Security Deposit as long as all resources have been returned and not damaged. If your child is not here to receive their report card at that time, you will be able to pick up the report card from the office on Thursday June 29, or Friday June 30 between 9am and 12pm on both days. If you have provided the school with a self addressed stamped envelope, the report card will be sent out via Canada Post on Friday afternoon.
