(a) Digital Images Assignment

This assignment will help you to understand about digital images and how to create the correct image for your projects. You are to access/get from the following web site and web server location and modify these images to meet the requirements of this assignment. You will end up with 6-10 images in your Images folder on the server and hand them in electronically when required

Images brought into iMovie have to be at least 640 X 480 pixels or you will get black spaces around the images.

Your Assignment:

Part 1

Take and download 5 files from the web site listed below and 5 images from the Tom Baines Server. You are to add the following to these 10 images to make your movie.

The total video should be less than 60 seconds long when all done.

Part 2

When you are finished editing the video you then must export the video as follows:

 3 Able to find and download 10 images from the internet and a server. Be able to fully modify the images and bring them into iMovie. The video should include sound, transitions as well as a title and credits The result of the project should be a Quicktime video of CD size. The movie should tell a story through the combination of sound and images. 75-80%
4 Able to find and download 10 images from the internet and a server. Be able to fully modify the images and bring them into iMovie. The video should include sound, transitions as well as a title and credits The result of the project should be a QuickTime video of CD size. The movie should tell a story through the combination of sound and images. (b) Basics of Digital Cinematography

We want to learn how to use the video cameras that we have at Tom Baines School. Your assignment is as follows:

Create a video about an object in the class that would be used as an advertisement on a TV program. The length of the ad is 30 seconds. There is no title or credits but you may need text to add to your ad. Your ad can have music (copy right free), narration, text all intended to sell the object to people.

You are to work in groups of 4 and all become familiar with your camera, your video tape, and then use the camera to video tape an object in the classroom.

Individual Video Assignment

Each student in the class must choose a topic and then plan a video on that topic. The video is to be a how to use, work or operate a machine here at school.

You must do the following:

  1. Choose a machine
  2. Do a storyboard on your plan
  3. Video tape the content
  4. Edit the video into your finished video
  5. Add music and narration where appropriate
  6. Save as a Quicktime video in .mov file format

 

Marking

You will turn in your storyboard, shoot list and video information sheet along with handing in the video to the handing folder on or before November 25, 2003 (4:00PM). This assignment will be worth 40 Marks ( 10 marks for storyboard, shoot list and video info sheet and 30 marks for the video)
