School of Alberta Ballet Partnership at Queen Elizabeth

The School of Alberta Ballet is a not-for-profit organization and the official school of Alberta Ballet. At the School we embrace the ideals of self-development through arts education. We believe, and our students prove, that academic excellence and intensified motivation to learn are natural outcomes of studying the arts. Since 1998 we’ve been working in partnership with the Calgary Board of Education and Queen Elizabeth Junior/Senior High to provide an innovative programme to our Professional Division students. Professional Division students are talented and motivated students who aspire to become professional dancers, devoting up to 20 hours a week to their ballet training. This partnership facilitates the balance between school and ballet by providing students with early release from classes at Q.E., transportation to the ballet studios and ready access to computers and study space.

In addition to Professional Division courses, the School offers recreational classes for students aged three to adult, a Pre-Professional programme for post-secondary students about to launch professional careers, and classes for BA Dance (Ballet) candidates with the University of Calgary. For more information about our partnership with Queen Elizabeth School or the other programmes at the School of Alberta Ballet, please call Tamara Ross at 245 2272 ext. 233 or visit our website at www.albertaballet.com/school
