Security Deposit (Refundable) guarantees the cost of lost and damaged instructional supplies and materials. If books and other instructional resources loaned to students for use in the school year are returned in satisfactory condition, the Security Deposit will be refunded.
Schools have no obligation to provide the goods or services associated with optional fees unless paid for. Activity/Program Fees are user fees that charged to students to cover the cost of the activity or program. Parents/guardians will be notified by the teachers any additional costs for courses such as Band, Art, Construction Technology, Fashion Studies, Food Studies, Physical Education, etc. Costs will vary depending on materials required.
Graduation Fee is applicable to Grade 12 students only. This fee includes a Crescent Height High School Graduation Certificate, costs for rental and insurance for the ceremony, gown rental and maintenance, program printing, announcements and invitations. The fee must be paid in order to access the website to purchase banquet and closing ceremony tickets.
The Yearbook is an optional purchase. Orders are placed early in the year, so if students wish to obtain one the payment is required when school fees are paid.
School fees can be paid:
- Online at the CBE website www.cbe.ab.ca/parents/fees.asp by VISA, MasterCard, VISA Debit or Interac.
- At school by credit card or by debit card through a POS (Point of Sale) terminal.
- By cheque (A charge of $35.00 will be made for NSF insufficient fund cheques to defray bank charges and related school costs.) Postdated cheques must be dated no later than December 31, 2015.
- By cash.
All school fees are due by Oct 15, 2017.
Textbooks are issued to students twice a year at the beginning of each semester. Textbooks are the property of Crescent Heights High School. Students are required to look after the books and will be charged for any excessive damage which is caused. Each textbook is barcoded with an unique number. Students are expected to return the exact same copy. Returning someone’s copy is good for that person, but not you. Textbooks must be returned, no later than the exam day, to the business office. Students who have outstanding rentals may not be allowed to sign out any more textbooks.
Waived Transit Passes: If students at your school ride Calgary Transit to school and require a waiver: CBE no longer has transit waiver. Families will be required to apply to Calgary Transit through The City of Calgary’s Fair Entry Program based on the family income. They may qualify for as low as $5 per pass. Transit Rebates: Students who are attending their designated regular program and who reside more than 2.4 km to the school will be eligible for a rebate, more information will be provided when they are ready. Please keep both receipt and bus pass in order to receive their rebate when ready.
