Possible exposure to measles at school
Please see this notice from Alberta Health Services (AHS) for information about possible exposure to measles at the school.
The families of students at Western Canada High School who are not confirmed to be immune to/adequately protected against measles will be contacted directly by Alberta Health Services (AHS) by end of day Friday April 4. Those students will be asked by AHS to remain at home from April 5 to 21 to prevent further spread of the disease.
During this period of time, there are nine instructional days of school. The Calgary Board of Education has developed plans to support students so they can continue to progress through their courses during this time.
Please see this letter, provided to affected families on April 4, for more information.
We understand the concern and inconvenience this extended absence causes our students and their families. We are continuing to work closely with AHS to ensure the safety and well-being of our all our students, teachers and staff. Please continue to check the school webpage for future updates.
