         Interested in learning about Japan?  Come visit the Japanese Cultural fair in the main gym tonight from 6-8.  All are welcome. 

 

         SPECIAL ROBOTICS EVENT! All interested students are invited to attend a free robotics session, hosted by WCHS Science Club and STEM Learning Lab. 3:45pm Tuesday April 25th Room 176.Summer programs for Aboriginal students

 

         Aboriginal Programs and Services on UBC's Okanagan campus is hosting two summer programsIndigenous Summer Scholar Camp (ages 1214) and Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp (ages 1517). Both programs are free, including food, accommodation, and programming. Travel to the program is not covered. The deadline to apply is June 2.          The UBC Summer Science program on the Vancouver campus is a one-week cultural, health, and science program for Aboriginal youth going into Grades 912. The cost of this program is $200, not including travel. Bursaries for the program costs are available.          Graduation 2017 Emcee, Class Historian, Toasts to Parents and Staff Auditions Announcement

For those students who applied for the Class Historian, the Emcee, the Toasts to Parents or Staff roles, there will be a schedule posted outside of room 070 Wednesday April 19th. The auditions will be held next week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Please sign up for one of the times provided on the schedule. See Ms. Olson in room 357 if you have any questions.

 

         Its time for the Calgary Police Service Student Police Academy. It will be held on Thursday, May 18 at Heritage Park from 0700 to 1530 hours. See what its like to be a police officer by handling situations that officers face each day. Applications are available in the Main Office and are due back by May 5.

 

         Remember that there are some new and amazing SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES for all grades (mostly Grade12) now available at Education Matters. Please go to their website to see the money that is available for you there. (www.educationmatters.ca). There are deadlines of May 1st and May 31st depending on the award. Remember that if you need references teachers or bosses/mentors require your request well in advance of the deadlines.
