Social Studies 30‐1  “Perspectives on Ideology”

Students at James Fowler are engaged in a critical examination of the perspectives that surround the ideologies of classical and modern liberalism. Students also investigate the alternatives of liberalism, and how liberalism has been imposed through out modern history. Students are immersed in a variety of simulations, debates, and interdisciplinary projects to assess the viability of these alternatives.

Social Studies 30-2  “Understanding of Ideologies”

Students at James Fowler examine the origins, values and complexities of competing ideologies. Through the exploration of multiple perspectives with regards to individualism, collectivism, liberalism and common good, students examine the various political and economic systems where they decide what is viable and what is not. Students develop and explore their understanding of citizenship through simulations, debates, interdisciplinary projects and individual work.

AP Social 30 students work with Social 10-1 students on how to best compose their position papers.
