Fashion Studies involves the study of clothing and textiles in a variety of contexts. Students learn about design, production and merchandising of clothing, textiles and accessories. This course provides opportunities for students to increase their knowledge of the fashion industry, as well as contributing to the acquisition of important daily living skills. The curriculum prepares students for their roles as consumers, enables them to explore and prepare for fashion related careers and provides a creative outlet for ideas.

Fashion Studies 10/20/30
This is a course for any level of sewer! If you want to make unique things this is a course for you! Basic life skills: laundry, repair and sewing skills. What are your figure variations and how to work with them? What is “in” right now to where to go shop! Fashion Design and Textile Arts is incorporated to some degree in this program as well. This truly is a great course for all!

Fashion Studies 10/20/30
This 5 credit Fashion course is for the student who loves studying Fashion, but doesn’t want to sew. The course will take the student through Fashion Illustration from beginner to advanced. They will learn how to draw fashion figures, and how best to illustrate clothes and fashion lines. They will also learn about the history of fashion; the influences on the way we dress and how fashion has changed through the ages. Students will also study fashion designers, historic and present day. There are no prerequisites for this course.
Textile Arts 10/20/30
This 5 credit course explores the world of working with fibres to create art. Students will create their own fabrics through weaving, felting and other techniques. Students will also experiment with dyeing, surface design, and embellishment techniques such as beading, needlework, printing on fabric. There are no prerequisites for this course.
||Learn to sew and create costumes at the same time! Students will explore a variety of characters in Anime, Video Games, Comic Books or Animation and recreate the total look of their selected character. Students will analyze different costuming requirements and construct a costume specific to their skill level.
||Students gain an understanding of the safe use and care of sewing and pressing equipment, and methods in the design, layout, and construction of garments. Students who possess initiative, creativity, a strong work ethic, and the desire to learn new skills will find success in this course.
