The CTS program is designed to develop skills that senior high school students can apply in their daily lives when preparing for entry into the workplace or for further learning opportunities. Through the CTS program, students are provided with opportunities to personalize their learning, identify and explore their interests, manage transitions and build partnerships while developing basic competencies, that is, the attitudes and behaviours that people need to participate and progress in today’s dynamic world of work. The intention of the CT Centre is to broaden the notion of CTS as it relates to post secondary and the world of work.

STUDENTS WITH HONORABLE MENTION AT THE CALGARY HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION, STUDENT HOUSE DESIGN COMPETITION

GOLD FOR EM HIGH SCHOOL!

EM student strikes gold at the Regional Skills Competition held at SAIT on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Defeating 16 other competitors, Milio S. successfully demonstrated GMAW and SMAW welds, proving to be superior in his field. After discovering welding was his passion in Welding 10 at EM High School, Milio went onto to spend two semesters and two summers as welding apprentice with Enerflex. Winning this award has opened up a plethora of opportunities such as a mentorship at SAIT and a place in the upcoming Provincial Skills Competition, held at the AgriCom in Edmonton on May 12 and 13. As a gold medalist at Regionals, Milio took home a brand new Millermatic MIG welder, a beautifully crafted belt buckle, and of course, a gold medal.
