Congratulations to the entire EMHS Skills Canada Alberta team!
Ernest Manning High School’s Career and Technology department sent its largest group of students to compete at Skills Canada Alberta this May. Competing in the following areas of 3D Animation; Architectural Technology & Design; Culinary Arts; Graphic Design; Job Search; Job Skill Demonstration; Public Speaking; Robotics; Video Production; Web Design and Development; and Workplace Safety. Skills Canada Alberta works “to meet current demands and in anticipation of future trends, Skills Canada Alberta works to equip young minds with the skills that help Canada compete successfully in a drastically changing world market”.

Claire H & Oliver O - won Bronze in 3D Animation
Sarah J - won Silver in Job Search
Ethan S - won Silver in Architectural Technology and Design
Eric H - won Gold in Workplace Safety
Eric H was asked to join Team Alberta and represent Ernest Manning at the Skills Canada National competition in June. Eric had a very successfully journey and finished with a bronze medal at Skill Canada 2018.
EMHS Treats International Students to a Holiday Feast
International students at Ernest Manning High School were treated to a spectacular feast in December. EMHS’s own Culinary Arts program catered the International Student Holiday Luncheon this year in true EMHS style. Read more.

Ernest Manning Student Raises Awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (Metro News)
Kaiya Leonard La Couvee, an Ernest Manning High School student, and her sister have launched the Footprints Project to raise awareness of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls. Read more.
Student awarded with Nordstrom Scholarship
The Nordstrom Scholarship was offered for the first time in Calgary, Alberta this spring 2015.
The scholarship is valued at $10,000.
A rigorous process involving a review of academic achievement, volunteerism and community service was conducted. The process culminated in an interview to select the worthy recipient.
We are proud to announce that one of the Nordstrom Scholarships was awarded to EM High student, Haya Bakour.
Robotics team visited by Astronaut David Saint Jacques
Ernest Manning High School robotics team and teacher David Eady demonstrated their skills at Bankers Hall on September 17th. Astronaut David Saint Jacques joined the EM team to share technical knowledge and expertise. Students commented that it was the "opportunity of a lifetime".
Student receives The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal
Sandon Law was presented The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal at Government House in Edmonton. The event took place on July 31st, 2015. Presentations were made by Her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. Congratulations Sandon!
