Ernest Manning High School is a medium-sized school which is a short bus ride from downtown. The school has a diverse population of about 1000 students. Seventy percent of the students speak English as their first language. More than 20 language groups are represented in the other 30 percent.
Ernest Manning provides classes to develop students’ skills and knowledge as well as support them to reach their full potential. Our Student Services Department will help students choose courses, find information about post-secondary education and provide support in other areas of student’s lives. Ernest Manning offers both a Fine Arts Certificate and International Certificate in addition to the High School diploma.
For international students, we offer a complete English as a Language Learner (ELL) program, from Beginner to Advanced. A variety of ELL classes are available to help students improve their academic English skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
International students complete an English assessment and are placed in ELL classes based on their English skills. Students also take Mathematics, Science and Social Studies classes with native language speakers while taking ELL classes.
