Pre-Engineering

Pre-Engineering

Pre-engineering is a dynamic innovative program that provides students with a practical hands-on experience in interactive technical lab environments complimented with virtual online simulations. Students will work with robotic, pneumatic, electrical, wind, solar, automated and other technologies to apply knowledge and skills to solve authentic engineering problems in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, computer engineering environmental engineering and biomechanical engineering.

Introductory courses will be offered at Ernest Manning High School primarily to create awareness towards this discipline. Most students do not really know the scope of engineering itself, much less what the difference is between a civil or mechanical engineer. This awareness is not only to teach them about the different types of engineering, but also steps to become an engineer. A key component to this process is the focus on the development of critical thinking skills required in the engineering field itself. Those students with a keen focus to pursue this area more intensely can do so at our affiliated CT Centre site

Students enrolled in Pre-Engineering Program at the Centre will earn 10 credits at each level. Of those 10 credits, 2 to 4 foundational courses will be required and the remainder will be choices in their area of focus.
